RIP RUNNIN & ROARIN

This is just an outlet for me, to be able to get my thoughts out! I am a Woman, Wife and Mommy that also works outside the home! Just me trying to make it all work for the best for my family and myself! Just my journey!

Don't Quit

I found this! This is the poem that helped me through my college, being away from my family and helped me through a time, when I was away from home and I thought I needed to be back at home!
My now, Husband, (then boyfriend) purchased a poster for me to take to college and this is the poem written on it!

The Don’t Quit Poem
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,

When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is strange with its twists and turns,

As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow-
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out,

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit-
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Honestly, this poem was a prayer, for the two and half years I was away from home! I can tell you there were many of times I wanted to quit many of things! I can hear my husband say, "Chrissy read the poem, tell me some part of it"!
With our Wedding Anniversary approaching (15 years) I have been searching my heart and my mind for memories I want to share with him and our children. Good memories, I haven't shared yet! This is a great great memory! I had this posted next to my bunk, I had the bottom, on the wall!
I can hear him say those words to me or I can hear myself reciting this poem, when I need it!
Good stuff!

  3. My favorite part is; rest if you must! It reminds me that we all need to rest, sometimes we are tired and need to rest and that that is ok as long as we get up and start moving toward the goal/finish line again!
